The Company
Our client is a financially solid and forward-thinking Communications Systems company, due to their continued growth strategy, they now require a Channel Development Manager residing in Washington DC to sell their Communications Systems into businesses throughout Washington DC, VA, MD, PA.

The Role
The purpose and remit of the Channel Development Manager – Communications Systems role:-
• Leading from the front by formulating and implementing an effective growth strategy for the territory.
• Responsible for Territory Sales (EAST) in North America for Public Safety vertical with the goal of achieving a sales target and given sales quota.
• Proactively engage and lead channel partners in selling Solutions to drive sales and provide coverage in Public Safety vertical market.
• Identify new channels and routes to market and partner with channel team to recruit, enable and develop these new partners.
• Engage partner Sales / Account Teams to identify opportunities for new business development.
• Work internally with Product Management, Services and Customer Service Teams to exceed partners and customer expectations.
• Sales support including solution selling, value argumentation, responding to technical part of tenders, technical hands-on demonstrations.
• Provide guidance to the sales teams and partners in relation to vertical knowledge, technical specification and design parameters.
• Advising on forthcoming product/s developments and discussing of special promotions.
• Keeping up to date with all our client's products and services ranges in order to advise current and potential customers of our client’s competitive offerings.

The Candidate
The Channel Development Manager – Communications Systems experience and qualifications: -
• Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of sales/public safety experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in selling and/or designing wireless (Microwave) communications systems ideally into the Public Safety sector.
• Excellent customer facing, presentation and communications skills (verbal and written).
• Channel Sales and Partner Management experience would be an advantage.
• Good business sense with excellent sales and negotiation skills to close complex sales.
• Good understanding of public safety proposal process with proposal assembly experience.
• Strong technical background and experience in telecom industry and data networks through knowledge in RF, Microwave and wireless products.
• Requires extensive travel throughout Washington DC, VA, MD, PA (60% to 70% as needed).
• Ideally resides in Washington DC.
